Charles Betz talks to Richard and Greg about the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). The ITIL provides guidance on all aspects of an IT operation, including service support and delivery, implementing service management, asset management, security, application, communications and even business perspectives.

 

Charles Betz is a Senior Enterprise Architect, and chief architect for IT Service Management strategy for a US-based Fortune 50 enterprise with a $1.3 billion IT budget. He is author of Architecture and Patterns for IT Service Management, Resource Planning, and Governance: Making Shoes for the Cobbler's Children (Morgan Kaufman 2007). He has held architect positions for Best Buy, Target, and Accenture, specializing in IT governance, ERP systems, enterprise application integration, metadata, and configuration management. He holds a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the U of MN. He is Foundation Certified in ITIL and an ITIL v3 reviewer. He is an active member of the professional community, belonging to the IEEE, ACM, ITSMF and DAMA (Data Management Association). Charles lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife Sue and son Keane.
